Celebrities

So I just watched an episode of South Park, and this one was about Brittany Spears. At first I though it was a little funny because they seemed to be making the paparazzi  so much worse then they are. But in the end of the show Brittany ends up killing herself. I know its just some weird show, but then i started thinking. Why is it that we care so much about whats going on in celebrities lives? I mean dose it matter? Honestly I think there is no reason for all of us to be nosey and try to know everything that's going on in there lives, its not like your life would be unbearably boring if you didn't know what was going on in a celebrities life.
