Creon

To me Creon seems to be the same as Oedipus. When there is a problem, or something that offends him he automatically steps in and begins insulting whoever committed the crime, and saying what will happen to them, And in my opinion goes a little crazy.

"The New Generation"

Adults have been telling us that we are "the Generation of Change". If you have Mr. Miclette's class then you know that he talked about all of the hard things being out of the way, and us finishing the job, and opening minds. I'm wondering why is it that the younger kids who haven't experienced, or seen the same things to the extension older people have are supposed to get rid of it? Wouldn't you think that the people who saw it all would want it all over with. I mean after seeing all of the discrimination and anger and death, i would be more open minded and ready for change. I think it shouldn't be up to mainly our generation, just because were not going to die as soon as the people who have experienced all of the society changing events, doesn't mean that they should give up and leave it to us.

Celebrities

So I just watched an episode of South Park, and this one was about Brittany Spears. At first I though it was a little funny because they seemed to be making the paparazzi  so much worse then they are. But in the end of the show Brittany ends up killing herself. I know its just some weird show, but then i started thinking. Why is it that we care so much about whats going on in celebrities lives? I mean dose it matter? Honestly I think there is no reason for all of us to be nosey and try to know everything that's going on in there lives, its not like your life would be unbearably boring if you didn't know what was going on in a celebrities life.

a long term question i'v had

I understand the quote that we talked about today about putting on an act for everyone. And
I agree with that quote, but my question is: for the people who know they are not being themselves, why do they do it?

music!

Iv never really noticed what a big effect music has on people. You could be really sad and hear some fast up-beat song that you love and start to feel better. Or other songs can make you have a realization, and suddenly something that didn't make sense dose. When Mr. Thompson sang "No Air" by Chris Brown and Jordan Sparks, it had a completely different effect on me then the original, why is that?

Books and Parents

So, every few months or so I finish reading the books that I bought, and i ask my mom or dad to take me to the book store to get more. Most of the time the types of books that I want to read are ones like; Go Ask Alice(about a conflicted teen who trys drugs and runs away a few times), Crank (about a teen who starts new addictions to crank and starts an alternate personality), and Tweak(about a boy who grew up addicted to meth). Whenever I find the books i want my parents will read the back cover of the book or ask me what it is about, every time they tell me that the book is "pretty morbid and heavy stuff for me to be reading." And they try to talk me out of getting it, but end up loving it and wanting to talk to them about it and they tell me that i need to read something "happy". Personally, i find happy books to boring. I mean wheres the excitement! the things to relate to? Why do parents care what type of stories we read? If a book was too upsetting for us to handle, wouldn't we decide that, and decide if its worth not reading?
